At IFS we aim to make school a place where every student feels comfortable and ready to learn. Read on to find information relating to school opening hours and the calendar for the year.

The school day

The school is open Monday through Friday from 7:40 AM to 5:15 PM (7:45 AM on Wednesdays).
 

Class Schedule - Secondary:

Morning: 8:00 AM-12:05 PM (with recess from 9:55 to 10:10 AM)
Afternoon: 1:00 PM-5:05 PM (with recess from 2:55 to 3:10 PM)

Schedule depends on the curriculum and grade followed by students

 

Class Schedule - Primary:

Classes begin at 8:00 AM and end at 3:30 PM
After 3:30 PM, extracurricular activities and afterschool care are available by registration

The day is organized in 55-minute periods, with appropriate breaks between classes and a one-hour lunch break (12:05 PM-1:00 PM)

For primary classes, the lunch break lasts one hour every day from 12pm to 1pm (except Wednesdays). For collège and lycée classes, the lunch break lasts 55 minutes every day, from 12.05pm to 1pm.

IFS Amsterdam is spread across two locations in central Amsterdam. They are approximately 8 minutes apart by bike, or 30 minutes by foot.
